WHAT IS PERFECT DAY™?
A Berkeley-based startup that developed flora-made (animal-free) dairy protein. It’s identical to the protein found in cow’s milk, but made without a single cow. It’s milk without the Moo!
“DAIRY PROTEIN” AND VEGAN – HOW CAN THAT BE?
Through a process of fermentation, Perfect Day™ creates a non-animal whey protein that is identical to the protein found in cow’s milk. There’s no dairy and no milk sugar (i.e. lactose) – making it completely vegan and lactose-free – but because it’s identical to the protein from milk, it is NOT dairy-free. Smitten® N’Ice Cream CONTAINS ANIMAL-FREE MILK PROTEIN. As such, it is NOT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH MILK ALLERGIES. We recommend that people with milk allergies take the same precautions they would with any other food containing dairy.
