Forget bald eagles (those things can claw your eyes out) – we think ice cream should be America’s national symbol!
We heard that our forefathers had a serious sweet tooth, so we dreamed up this creamy tribute to Independence Day.
Naturally red, white, and blue, we’re calling this flavor “American Pie” and we promise it’s even better than the firecracker popsicles you grew up having poolside. Pieces of handmade organic blueberry pie are folded into churned-to-order scoops of vanilla ice cream, then lightly drizzled with Strawberry Prosecco sauce. But when we started the development of this flavor, we knew just who to call for that all-American pie.
We lobbed in a call to Three Babes Bakeshop, who between rolling out dough for hundreds of pies a week, said “Hell yeah, ‘Murica” to baking some organic blueberry pies for us. “When we started developing this flavor, there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to reach out to Three Babes. They’ve built their brand on such a strong foundation of sourcing the best raw ingredients and crafting the most delicious pies from scratch,” says Sam Meyer, our Hunter-Gatherer (aka Sourcing Guru.) “We traded a few recipes back and forth before settling on the perfect ratio of fruit to crust to cream, and I’m proud to be working with a company that shares our values.”
The result? A scoop that tastes like freedom. But hustle on over – it’s only on the menu through July 8th. And if you’re staying in the city for the holiday weekend, check out Sprig Friday July 1st through Monday, July 4th and order a few half pints to be delivered right to your barbecue or fireworks-viewing rooftop party. (PS. Sounds fun. Did our invite get lost in the mail?)
