“An Ice Cream Dream”
“On a former parking lot at 432 Octavia Street in trendy Hayes Valley, Smitten Ice Cream, a little glassed-in stand, purveys what is arguably the freshest, if not the best ice cream on earth. Each serving is created while you wait, in most cases in just 60 seconds, thanks to an innovative process that uses liquid nitrogen to speed-freeze the fresh, locally sourced ingredients to ultra-low temperatures. Because of the time involved, flavors are usually limited to four per day, all so tempting it’s still difficult to choose. A recent menu offered classic vanilla, mint chip, and peanut butter with honey.”
